I am currently a Professional School Counselor in Montgomery County Public Schools, in addition to a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor (LGPC), and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). Prior to my work as a counselor, I received my Bachelors of Psychology from UMBC and my Masters of Education in School Counseling from Loyola University of Maryland.
My passion is supporting children in achieving their goals and making positive change from mindfulness. I strongly believe that children’s basic needs must be met in order for them to be available for success in all areas of their life. As a therapist, I create an environment for a genuine connection, fidelity, and open communication within the therapeutic relationship. I prefer to be direct with clients and welcome humor and fun into my sessions!
I have dedicated the past 10 years to serving children in the community through teaching, coaching, counseling, and educating. I have experience working with children suffering from grief, anxiety, peer conflicts, social skills, depression, trauma, and suicidality. I’ve helped clients cope with life changes, family divorce, academic concerns, and more.
I often work from an eclectic approach with a mixture of cognitive behavioral and solution-focused, perspectives. These therapies, along with play therapy, mindfulness, and a strength-based approach are found within my counseling. I look to create a safe and inclusive space for sharing.
Patience, perseverance, and practice together will lead you to becoming YOUR best self.
I look forward to getting to know you!
